Assessment & Evaluation
Empowering minds and nurturing wisdom to shape a future of achievement and greatness.
The CBSE’s revised assessment system focuses on a holistic and comprehensive approach to
evaluate students’ skills and learning progress.
Assessment Structure
- Term 1 (40% weightage): Focuses on Objective and Subjective questions (MCQs, descriptive, analytical).
- Term 2 (40% weightage): Similar structure to Term 1 but with a deeper assessment of understanding.
- Internal Assessments (20% weightage): Includes project work, periodic tests, assignments, and participatory activities.
Examination Pattern
- Term 1 Examination: Objective (MCQs) and Subjective (Descriptive/Short Answer) for 90 minutes.
- Term 2 Examination: Includes both Objective and Subjective questions, duration of 2–3 hours.
Internal Assessments
- Continuous evaluation throughout the year, accounting for 20% of the final grade. Includes projects, assignments, and practical exams for co-curricular subjects.
Question Paper Features
The question paper pattern has been restructured to promote a deeper understanding
of the subjects. Some key features include:
- Objective Questions (MCQs): Assess factual knowledge, concepts, and application.
- Short & Long Answer Questions: Test comprehension, analysis, and application.
- Case-Based & Value-Based Questions: Evaluate critical thinking, ethical decision-making, and real-life application
Grading System
The CBSE will continue to follow the grading system for both the Term 1 and Term 2
exams, with corresponding grade points based on marks scored. The overall grading
scale will reflect the student’s performance across the two terms, internal assessments,
and practical evaluations.
- A1 (Outstanding): 91–100%
- A2 (Excellent): 81–90%
- B1 (Very Good): 71–80%
- B2 (Good): 61–70%
- C1 (Fair): 51–60%
- C2 (Average): 41–50%
- D (Need Improvement): 33–40%
- E (Failing): Below 33%
Students must score a minimum of 33% in each subject (Term 1, Term 2, and internal
assessments) to pass. If this threshold is not met, students will need to appear for
compartment exams.
Our students cultivate an inclusive and vibrant community for everyone.
Innovation stems from curious minds sparked by a thirst for knowledge. When these minds are nurtured at the right time, in the right way, and within the right environment, students achieve excellence in their physical, mental, social, and spiritual growth.
